GREAT CASCADE ADVENTURE July 11 - 13 Join us for a weekend of fun, companionship, and spirited driving in the Cascade Mountains of Washington. The area boasts some of the most beautiful scenery in the State and this is a spectacular time of year to enjoy it. Add the close proximity and convenience to Seattle and it is easy to see why this trip is a favorite amongst club members. We’ll begin on Friday at noon by meeting for lunch at Patty’s Eggnest Restaurant in Monroe (19837 State Route 2, Monroe, WA 360.794-6940). After lunch we’ll gas up and proceed on Route 2 through the majestic countryside and steep mountain peaks to Stevens Pass for a group photo. From there we’ll continue onward to our destination at the Bavarian village of Leavenworth. Upon arrival, we’ll be able to socialize, relax and enjoy the local activities such as a swim in the pool, strolling through the Art walk in the park, shopping in the stores or visiting the small wine shops. Our club dinner is at the traditional Italian restaurant Visconti’s where they’ve agreed to have separate checks so there is no prepaying necessary. Can’t get away from work on Friday? No problem, Leavenworth is just 118 miles from Seattle which makes it easy to get to for late starters. Our post-lunch departure also allows time for our Oregon and BC friends to attend and join in the fun too. Saturday morning we’ll say a quick 'Auf Wiedersein' as we depart Leavenworth to enjoy the twisty roads of Eastern Washington’s Wenatchee Forest. We’ll pass through the panoramic scenery of Lake Chelan and the Okanogan Forests before our lunch and continue on toward our destination at the Winthrop Inn. Our return on Sunday will be westward over the breathtaking North Cascades ending up on I-5 in Burlington. From there its a quick 75 mile drive to Seattle.
